Happy Halloween
Friday, October 31st, 2003Today is Halloween. Happy Halloween, everybody. I don’t really like Halloween, but our culture celebrates it with great gusto. So, I am wearing a blonde wig to amuse everyone. I had thought about doing a Dilbert costume, as I have done years ago, but the blonde wig is more fun. I also baked chocolate chip cookies for a potluck.
Here is a thought to pondering: on this day in 1517, Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the church door in Wittenburg. Why today?
For your education, here are two lectures on the true origins and nature of Halloween.

- Invitation to the Occult, Part 2 (mp3)
- Witchcraft and the Occult, Part 1 (mp3)

- Halloween Lecture Notes (pdf)
Don’t get the wrong idea, though. I think Halloween, as most people have come to understand it, is meant to be fun. So, I admire the clever costumes. And I wear my blonde wig in solidarity. But I don’t like where it comes from.
I leave this entry with a photo of 13 Spooky XServes in a data center.
Spooky XServes — count, there are 13 of them. Oooooo!
